Ultimate Upcycling...

Chloe totally nailed it today. Came into DPE at the beginning of the week with an idea, planned and resources ready to go. She looked at what was available to her at home (old folding sun lounger) and though about how she could upcycle it. She then spent very little ($5) at Trash Palace on some old skis and created this masterpiece. It even folds down to different levels and completely down to store away tidily.

You should be VERY proud of yourself Chloe. I certainly am, and I know other teachers and students are too!!! Well done.

Laser Cutting under way...

Oh the ease of it. Here is Rosa, Abigail, Lily, and Supriti laser cutting and assembling a box for their candle holder. Well done girls - I was proud of the perseverance you showed!!!

To be.. or not to be..... organised. This is the question......

Hi everyone,

Just want to take this opportunity to remind you all to try and be organised enough to have your item or items ready to start upcycling THIS WEEK!!! It would be awesome to be able to help you out in your upcycling journey and watch your amazing ideas come to fruition (not sure what that means? Grab a dictionary and look it up - google it)

Otherwise, you might find yourself twiddling thumbs during your DPE sessions.

Mr Bailey.

Say hello to our little friend...

Yesterday the DPE team had a visit from an ex Raroa student Gordon, who now has a business building 3D printers. We are so very fortunate to now have his first machine in production..

Isn't she a beauty!!! :-)

The Up-cycling mania begins...

A fantastic start to this terms 'Up-cycling' theme in DPE 2... Already some creative ideas shining through.

Here is the beginning to Sophie's bedside table constructed from old books, clamped up and ready to glue together. Well done Sophie :-)
